How Heavy Should You Jump Squat?

','

'); } ?>

Lucky for you this study has the answer. In this study one group completed jump squats with an additional 20 of their body weight while another group changed with an additional eighty percent of their body weight.

Now can you guess which group saw faster sprint times? If you guessed the first group then you are correct. Using lighter weights allowed athletes to exert more velocity and power making them faster.

And if you want to take your jump squats to the next level try doing them in socks or Barefoot. Not using shoes while doing jump squats helps to engage the intrinsic muscles of your foot as well as your calf muscles even more strengthening the lower legs and making you faster.
